We had both wholesome and unwholesome fun on Halloween. First, we went to the Queens County Farm Museum!! I think the last time I went was in Kindergarten for our class trip to teach us what farms and farm animals are supposedly like. Because it is so relevant to NYC kids. They had a pretty cute Halloween setup going on though, with a lot of kids dressed up in ridiculous costumes.
But LOOK it's DUCKS!
And uh oh lookit the sunflowers:
But look, here is the best part! See? MAIZE MAZE! (And TRACTOR)
So we all got tall flags to keep us from getting lost forever in there. We got a paper to tape pieces of the map onto, and there were 9 pieces of the map scattered throughout the maze. It was hard!
Parts of the maze were color-coded. There was a random turkey running around inside. I thought it might be cool if there was a minotaur, but I guess it's good that there wasn't. But there was actual real live corn in the corn maze:
We figured out how to get out of the maze finally, but it took us a good 20 minutes. The end of the maze was actually a bridge. So here's the view of the maze & all the lost people inside from up top:
And here's some more animals for good measure:
So yeah! The cider was good, the caramel apple was awful and microwaving it sadly didn't help but the apple made some funny sounds :) That was the wholesome portion of our Halloween festivities. David will commence shortly on the less wholesome evening activities!
