Our celebration of lesser-known holidays!

This will be a very brief post about how we celebrated TWO not so famously famous holidays in America at least.

Here is a not-so-subtle hint to help you guess the first one:

As for the second one, you'll just have to read on because it's a surprise!

In case you were so stumped about the first holiday, it's Mid-Autumn Festival!!  I luuuurve it!

So we got some mooncake and ate it :)

Contrary to what the sparkly pictures on the boxes may suggest, these moon cakes were not in fact Asian Flavored.  But it was a mystery!  Because we couldn't tell which flavor was in which mooncake without eating it.  So far, we have tried a lian rong flavored one (lotus paste), and a jujube flavored one (whatever that is, but it was gummy).

Moon cake!

Evidence that David tried some!
(And see? there's egg yolk inside.  Don't really like that part.)

We also saw some parents taking their kids around at night with paper lanterns :)

Now, on to obscure holiday #2!!   ...Surprise Independence Day!!!

Believe it or not, these pictures were not taken on July 4th.

Here's what happened: we put on clothes, and we happened to end up looking like this completely by accident!  (or "ON accident" as David would say). We just can't help it, we just unconsciously have a desire to exude Americanness.

Wheee!  It is a fantastic holiday!  I highly recommend it to everyone!
