Ultraconglomerate

So David's been working ridiculous hours at the computer & doesn't feel like being on the computer more than necessary to blog, and I've been busy with my first semester of grad school.  Basically, those are our excuses for not blogging.  Just so you know.

Here are some things that we probably should have blogged about but did not:
- Sanity Rally in D.C.
- making Scallion Pancakes
- making Pumpkin Pie
- Goo Goo Dolls Concert
- Santa Claus & treasure troll
- kitchen floor etc. ordeal
- Ingrid Michaelson's holiday hop!

There are probably more things that we have done, but I no longer remember.

I suppose I am writing this post under the guise of keeping our massive readership informed and assured about our continued adventuring spirit.  But in actuality, this post is more for me and David, so that we won't forget what we have been doing with our lives.  Because otherwise, we will actually forget.   Cheers!

Awesomer trip: NEW ORLEANS (part 1)

David & I are currently in New Orleans!  We've both been here before years ago, and are glad to be back!  David is in boring work training, so I will blog about the trip so far.  When we arrived on Thursday, a very cheerful iconic character welcomed us in his airport:
 Cheerful but scary...

Back from the abyss with a short roadtrip: Montauk

So I've been away a reallllly long time.  I was in Mexico for about 4.5 months.  135 days to be exact.  But now I'm back!!  Hooray!  So David & I have been having more adventures but we've been lazy and haven't written much about them at all.  One thing we did was go to The End.  This is what The End apparently looks like:

Mint Oreo Truffles

So this is my last post before Serena returns from Mexico (and it is consequently her turn), and I saved the best for last-before-Serena-gets-back:

Mint Oreo Truffles.

They are awesome. I first had Oreo Truffles around Christmas, I think, at my aunt's house. I'm not sure of the exact recipe that was used in that case, but Serena and I found a few recipes on the internets and changed them around a bit to make our own.

A meatloaf to pass the time...

So Serena is gone and has been for over a month now (she's off having her own adventures whether she wants them or not). She will be back in June and until then I have a few blog posts to catch up on. I decided that the best way to do this would be to space them out over the period she is gone so as not to leave our AVID readers with no adventures to read during her absence.

This is the first and it is about meatloaf. It is also John's wedding present*.

WOW WE MADE IT TO ONE YEAR!!! (belated)

David & I started "talking" or whatever (not to mention roadtripping & music-listening partying etc.) before this date, but "officially" we started dating December 8, 2008.  How did we become an Official Couple, you ask?  Here's how.  We were walking in a park near Brooklyn Bridge one night, and then David goes "So what are we?"  And then I gave him a hard time, and still tease him mercilessly about that to this day. :D  And that made us a couple apparently.

So for our first anniversary, we GOT DRESSED UP! :O (and took awkward pseudo-affectionate pictures):
