Back from the abyss with a short roadtrip: Montauk

So I've been away a reallllly long time.  I was in Mexico for about 4.5 months.  135 days to be exact.  But now I'm back!!  Hooray!  So David & I have been having more adventures but we've been lazy and haven't written much about them at all.  One thing we did was go to The End.  This is what The End apparently looks like:

Hm...I realized this will be a boring blog post.  For me, that weekend (incidentally July 4th weekend) was the first time to a beach for me in a VERY long time, so that was exciting.  And the water was very pretty:

And David was a fan of the lighthouse:

We also went to an "outlook" which was really a small parking lot looking over a pond very far away and there was a mysterious trail entrance.  Being the adventuresome couple that we are, we of course went exploring!  However, the trail continued for a very very very long time and had no explanation, and narrowed a lot, and we ended up wading our way through an overgrown field of thorns and winding paths in the forest.  Finally, we got deposited...1000 feet away from our original starting point, on some random spot on the highway!  Hooray!  That was rewarding.  The End.
